[MW:19096] RE: 19088] ASME Sect IX-Qualifying PQR for ASTM A333 Grade 8

Please see some recommendations on welding of this alloy. Typically alloy 625 is recommended for welding this alloy , down to -196 deg C impact. Note attaching Bohler's product details does mean any endorsement of their product. Do a web search , similar products are offered by Metrode-Lincoln and EASB.
 
To the best my knowledge MR-0175 does not include this alloy, as 9%Nickel steel is typically not recommended for  design and construction "Sour Service", as the service  does not call for such alloys.
 
Feel free to share your project specifications , for further guidance if you wish so.

ASTM A333 Grade 8 ( UNS K81340 ),

CVN at -195 deg celcius.

P.No- 11A/ Group No - 1.

Min Dia 2" / Max Dia 8".

Min Thk-11.0mm / Max Thk - 32.0mm.




 2" and below - 100% GTAW.


Above 2 " - Intend to Weld Process - GTAW + SMAW , GTAW + FCAW.

Must comply to NACE MR0175.

Advise suitable welding consumable from  ESAB / Lincoln/Sanvik..etc
