Re: [MW:17798] Polarity difference in WPS

It is a cross violation ( ASME Sec 2 Part C , SFA 5.1, Usability of Electrodes- Type of Current & Polarity)
Even though it is not essential variables as per AWS D1.1, it is not good engineering Practice. u can revise the WPS

Dear Experts

In my company we have a wps qualified in last year with AWS D1.1 for structural steel welds. But now the client has raised a problem that in that wps the polarity of the electrodes which is used for the root run is wrong. The electrode used was E-7016-1 and as per standard the polarity should be +ve. But in place of that we used -ve polarity and the PQR is qualified with that.Since I am new to this company I have to solve the issue for submitting the final dossier. So my question is that whether  this WPS can be revised without re-qualification.

Thanks & Regards
