Re: [MW:17759] WPS no. on PQR


Dear Mr Pandithan,

First you have to understand the concept of making WPS / PQR.
First step, make PWPS - Proposed welding specification according to your Base metal and
suitable consumables and along with the client requirement / design requirement of product.

Second step, now conduct the procedure test as per proposed welding specification .

Record all details and after completion of test carryout mechanical testing as per base metal
codes then check the test passed as per code requirement / client contract requirement. If the
test passed prepare the PQR . From that PQR now you may prepare WPS and mention the PQR number
at Supporting PQR of the WPS number.

From one PQR you may prepare lot of WPS within acceptable variable essential / non essential
supplementary essential variables.
