Hi,
Why did you done by pressfit for welding of flange to nozzle/pipe? it is not recommended as one of our group member noted before,It should have clearance for expansion during welding also have proper supports shall be provided to avoid such deformations.Also you have to control the heat input during welding.

rough m/c of the flange face & od 
step inside the flange to suit the length of the job the id of the step maintained was such that the pipe was press /tight fit in side the flange 
welded by gtaw as per details given in earlier mail
