Dear All,

Please inform me whether  temporary gaskets can be used during hydrotest for process piping at the joint which is a test limit joint where blind/spectacle blind is used.( Construction code B31.3)

Example : as per drawing a  particular joint rquires use of 300 #  spiral wound grafite filled SS Gasket. this joint  is the end limit for the particular section.

During hydrotest the above joint will be closed/isolated by use of temporary blind flange. so is it allowed to use temporary  gasket such as CAF   at this location.

Please  give your  comments with respect to code reference.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
