Re: [MW:7184] EFFECT OF GAS MIXTURE ON DELTA FERRITE

Dear Bhavesh,
309L mo welding consumable may contain 12to 15% ferrite but barrier layer will have low ferrite due to dilution from carbon steel particularly due to increase of carbon in barrier layer.

Dear All,

Generally after barrier layer with SS309LMo we have got more than 10 %
ferrite but with following condition mentioned below i have got
ferrite content in between 1.8 ~ 3.8 FN.

Process : FCAW
Layer : Barrier Layer
Consumable : E309MoLT0-1
Gas : Argon(80%) + CO2 (20%)

Current : 200 - 215 Amp
Voltage : 30 - 32
Speed : 250 mm/min.

Kindly share what should be the reason behind the same.

Regards,
Bhavesh
