As far as the welding processes are concern, this depends on the requirement of your job,
SAW is having high deposition rate but the limitation is the welding position.
If it is possible to carryout welding in1 G position then SAW is the best. The material thickness also matters, for thick metal SAW is best but if the metal is thin then GMAW is best using which you can get maximum output with quality weld.

Subject: [MW:24381] Welding process selection
Dear sir,
i would like to know on welding process . If i use same electrode for different welding with SMAW, SAW, GTAW, FCAW & ETC.
Please tell me on getting efficient welding process. How we are choosing process or dilution time.
I know SAW is good deposition rate, please share your ideas with corresponding details for other process.
we want to convince our client to use FCAW process instead SMAW on fillet weld. He want process efficiency difference.
Please share your ideas.
