Dear DINESH,
-- You can use splice plate on joining plate. As the gap is more you can use one side splice plate as backing plate and fill the gap by welding. After completion plate to plate butt welding you can perform NDT (UT/ MPT as required), and after that you can fit up and weld other side splice plate. For strength & load bearing capacity it will be more better than normal butt joint. But we do not know where it's use, so discuss with designer or check where & which purpose it will be use at site.
With Thanks & Regards:

Please tell how i can weld the job to ensure minimum load carrying capacity of member..We had issue that load carrying members having 30 mm gap when fit up, Which is pressure carrying parts in structure.
