One would not expect a hardness of 244 to result in a failure in a standard SCC test. However you could carry out further hardness testing using a reduced load for the test to see if there are very local areas of high hardness which are initiating the failure.

Hi Alan
Based on the same WPQT but conducted on different test coupon the highest hardness value is 244 on the HAZ side.
Do you reckon hardness is the issue?
Thanks.
