Re: [MW:20605] Filler wire (single wire for root/fill/cap) for API 5L- X65 for fully automatic GMAW process.

The minimum tensile strength requirement of X65 is 77ksi, so ER80S-Ni1 can be an option.

As per section 6.5 of SAES-W-012 (July 2013 Ed) the min. strength requirement  for X65 for root is 70XX while fill passes is 80XX. This applies only to manual/semi-automatic processes  but does not applies to automatic GMAW .
Does anybody have an idea why this criteria is not applicable to automatic GMAW?

Thanks & Regards,

Dear All,

Kindly suggest  filler wire (single wire for root/fill/cap) for API 5L- X65 for fully automatic GMAW process by keeping in view the additional requirements of Saudi Aramco standard (SAES-W-012).
