Re: [MW:4956] limitation for UT

Hello,

If you are talking about the manual UT testing, Testing is completely depending on the mental and physical condition of the technician. If technicians are in correct mind set he can test as he wants. But lot of factors involved (including person and product) and not easy to determine the integrality of tech. code not specified on any length limit.

By study and experience some company fix the daily limit for 8hrs working shift 7.5 meter production. (With scanning all the side and all the face with all probes.)

Please consider the type of job, eviormental condition, type of defects you are looking for and any other factors which may cause tech to lose his concentration including the factors mention in the previous response from group member.

Regards, Bhaskar

Hi.
It depend of several variables, if  surface is cleaned, distance between welds, ubication is easy or not, if there are or not many discontinuity, in my experience and for estimation,  I will taken one minute for one inches of weld if there are not many discontinuity and double time if there are.
I hope that the information wiil be help to you.
