Re: [MW:4949] RE: 4926] 2.2 CERTFICATE

Hi,
They may have reservation for not to issue 2.2 test report since 2.2 calls for non specific inspection and testing. non specific means if they check the dimension of the flanges then also it will be not of your lot, such results will not useful to you and secondly this is just jobwork of machining and no testing is involved so that data also they can't provide.

2.2 doesn't call for certification but for only test report.

Subject: [MW:4926] 2.2 CERTFICATE

Dear member,

We purchase a standard product from manufacturer. The product was '' FLANGE 2 INCH SCH 80 CLS 150 A105'', we received a 3.1 certificate with material, we than ask work shop to machines this flanges to make its ID equal to that of SCH 40 Flanges.

Machining was done in workshop which is ISO 9001-2008 certified. We asked the workshop to issue 2.2 certificates stating that that the product after machining is in conformance with requirement.

However they refused to do so and said that 2.2 certificates can only be issued by a manufacture and since they have not manufactured it they can issue a 2.2 certificate and they will just issue letter.

Is this correct? Can't they issue 2.2 certificates?

Regards
