Regarding to SAW using during wind tower production, you can try Esab OK 1072 flux combination together with your wires which is already presented to be used in wind tower production.

Dear gary,
 
now we are using the Lincoln Electric P223 flux , to weld the wind mill towers , but during welding we experience the following
1. uneven weld bead
2.excess reinforcement
3.bad cosmetic look
 
if decrease the amps to get good cosmetic look , during ut inspection the weld soundness fails. can you recommend a parameter for welding
 
Note:
 
the thickness range is 8mm to 20mm , we are practising square but welding .
