[MW:3323] Re: 3259] Regaring Painting work.

Dear
Jivan Dhamane,
What type of Paint ru using? Which Manufacturer?
If for example we are using Hempel Paint, If you check the Manufacturer data sheet of the Paint Manufacturer it is recomended which thinner should be used. Depend upon that only we can decide . So, as per SSPC Vol 1 & Vol 2 you cannot use non recomended  thinners. Your job is rejected.
No chance of accepting your job .  Finaly ,Reblast & coat.
Thinners are of different types, Cleaning your tools, mixing thinners etc....recommended with Paint Manufacturer

I believe the painting work cannot be accepted. Two options:
a) Either to re-blast + paint in accordance with your specifications and paint supplier recommendations
b) Let the sub-contractor payment wait until there is some evidence for the quality (might be waiting 3 - 5 years)

kind regards

Subject: [MW:3259] Regaring Painting work.

Dear Friends

I would like to know one queries answer that is our subcontractor is assigned job of sand blasting and painting and they had used local thinner (not recommoded by Manufacturer), which type of thinner used dont know,  Manufacturer of thinner dont know , test certificates of thinner is also not available, they dont have sample of thinner to test it to laboratory as all thinner had been used in painting job. It was discussed with paint manufacturer but they are not accepting the gauranty of paint as compatability of the thinner with their paint will give satisfactory result.

In this scenerio what is to be done to accept the painting work carried our by subcontractor.

Please advice me to take necessary step .

Regards,

Jivan Dhamane
