Hi everybody,
Please people use your mind. Never do any kind of fillet weld which has any kind of NDT with just one fillet of weld, because according to ASME SEC VIII- DIV-1 this weld is approved.
Here in Brazil when we weld a 3/4" pipe diameter fillet weld which requires pressure it is welded with two fillets of weld.

GOODMORNING........... can anybody can confirm whether a pin hole of diameter 3mm and depth of approximately 5 mm in fillet weld of 6mm of material SA 516GR 70 can be VISUALLY accepted. The vessel is fabricated as per ASME SEC VIII DIV 1. If YES then by which code. Kindly note that if we consider acceptance crieteria for PT/MT, as per ASME SEC VIII DIV 1, APPENDIX 6/8, Rounded indication upto 4.8mm is acceptable. can the above defect can be accepted on the basis of acceptance crieteria of PT/MT. please reply ASAP. Thanks & Regards Asad Azmi

If joint repair came in 2" pipe, it is very difficult to identify repair the exact location & root repair we can't do, so the joint should be cut out My question is When we are calculating the welders repair % we have to consider total length of 2" is repair ? Why because we repaired the total length Is it correct please advice
