Dear Mr Moorthy,

Please submit the welding procedure specification (if it exists) and the exact base material analysis from the certificate.
I need to know the bead positioning, the heat input and the basematerial analysis of the cracked plate as a minimum.
The hardness of the HAZ in the cracked plate can give an indication as well.

Dear All,
 
I am doing tank construction. I have found some cracks on the pad toe and pad corner. Shell thk 38 mm, pad thk 30 mm and fillet weld size 21 mm. we were controlled everything. (electorde quiver temp. preheat, oven temp. before start welding good cleaning and etc).
 
Material details :
 
Shell mat'l  : A537 
Pad mat'l   : S275 Gr J
 
Electrode    : E7018
 
Pls any one can sugest to me the causes and prevention.
