As all raw material for job will be supplied free issue by our client and it is not yet produced but before that i have to qualify new PQR. I am in KSA. Is there any reputed vendor who can provide SANDVIK 254 SMO.----Hi Darshan,
If this is UNS 31254 then definitely P8 G4 regardless of whatever outsourced it maybe and mostly comes with sandvik 254 SMO, simply we call it SMO material, for this you can use ENiCrMo-12 is suggested from Part C of Sec 2, we do not had combination but only GTAW as our thickness requirement was up to MAX 11.08.
SANICRO60 - No idea.
We used BM as SANDVIK 254 SMO with ENiCrMo-3 from ESAB.
Welding.
The heat input during welding should not exceed 1.5 kJ/mm, and in multi-pass welding the interpass temperature should not exceed 100°C (210°F). A stringer bead welding technique should be used.
The welding of fully austenitic steels usually entails a risk of hot-cracking in the weld metal, particularly if the weldment is under constraint. However, since Sandvik 254 SMO has a very high degree of purity, the risk of this type of cracking is greatly reduced. Backing bars or similar devices of copper alloys must not be used since copper penetration into the grain boundaries in stainless steel can lead to cracking.
So when you come to practical experience definitely do PT after the completion of each pass slow cooling done, cracks is possible after every pass, alert your inspectors and techinicinas to look for crack during their visual inspection regardless of welding parameters followed.

Mr. muneeb,My material is out sources, welding consumable is SANICRO60 from sandvik.--On Sun, 28 Oct 2018, 10:28 am Mohamed Muneeb, <muneebslsa@gmail.com> wrote:Greetings,If I am not wrong your material is Sandvik smo which comes under p8 group 4? Please confirm. For this you can definitely use mentioned fillers as we did the same in gosps for crevice services.--On Sun, Oct 28, 2018, 2:13 PM Revdiwala Darshan <darshanmrevdiwala@gmail.com> wrote:Thankyou sir for your valuable reply.I am trying ESAB ERNiCrMo-3 for GTAW and ENiCrMo-3 for SMAW.--On Sat, 27 Oct 2018, 5:28 am PGoswami, <pgoswami@quickclic.net> wrote:Hi,
Please see the attached document providing detailed information on UNS 31254 steel, including welding. Recommended consumables are highlighted. Usually Inconel 625(ER-NiCrMo3) is the preferred grade for this alloy. The other grades are recommended based on the design criteria.
You should check with reputed manufacturers, on the best recommendation.
I had dealt with Metrode products in the past. However there're other good manufacturers also.
Thanks.
