Re: [MW:28678] Impact requirement of multiple process and different Group number

This is for station piping pertaining pipeline , construction code is B31.8.

Our client  Spec required  -45 degree impact at LTCS material , where all material belongs to P1G1.  And remaining material/Class required impact @-20 degree. For minimize PQR  I have proposed P1G1#P1G3 combination. Impact of  Weld and G1 HAZ will carry out in -45 degree and G3 HAZ will be carried out in -20 Degree .

Is it Okay in Code and technical point of view , right ?

Dear All,

PQR conducted on P1G1#p1G3 with wall thickness 7.8 mm. Root Hot Pass with GTAW and Remaining SMAW.

1) Is this required to carry out impact test of HAZ for both G1 and G3 material ?

2) Is it required to carry out impact test for both GTAW and SMAW process separately ??

With Regards
