Dear Joby:

Choosing filler metal for P1G1 is mostly based on matching UTS (Filler metal shall be carbon steel).
Most of the time, there is no need to use low-alloy filler metals or any other alternative, just go with simple choices such as E6010/E7010/E7018 or ER70S-6 etc.
If you shall meet NACE requirements you are restricted to use low Hydrogen or low Sulphur content filler metals not mentioning Ni-content which shall not exceed 1% (NACE MR0175).  

Please refer to your material and welding specifications for more details but keep in mind that choosing filler metal is the job of the welding engineer and shall not be taken lightly.
