Dear experts
-- according to sec VIII ug-36 (d):
(d) Openings Through Welded Joints. Additional provisions
governing openings through welded joints are given
in UW-14.
and according to uw-14:
UW-14 OPENINGS IN OR ADJACENT TO WELDS
(a) Any type of opening that meets the requirements
for reinforcement given in UG-37 or UG-39 may be located
in a welded joint.
according to these requirements is it essential to reinforce the OPENINGS IN OR ADJACENT TO WELDS?
Or it should be calculated to see if its necessary.
Best regards.
