Re: [MW:21779] RE: Cracks hair line apprearing after welding hard facing electrode

any hard facing which is having more 35 hrc, bound to have stress relieve cracks, to avoid this keep inter pass temp very low or give some water cooling while welding??

Dear ,

Can please explain why hair line cracks are appearing after welding with ahand facing electrode

I have used a build up electrode  layer - 2
and 1 or two layers with hard facing electrode  a hair line crack at varius intervals.

I am informed that since it is hardfacing electrode hair line cracks will appear
