Re: [MW:21702] Table 4.5 34) ---AWS D1.1

Hi,
It simply means that when you CANNOT take away backgouging/backing from a wps, but you are free to include backgouging/backing in your wps. When a procedure is qualified with backgouging/backing, your wps will always be with backgouging/backing either ceramic, or permanent. But when you have a PQR without backgouging/backing you are free to include this procedure in your wps.
Hope it clarifies.

Dear All

Please explain in table 4.5 34) The omission, but not inclusion, of backing or backgouging.

If i have PQR qualification test CJP single V butt joint with ceramic backing.
Question.
1.) Can i write WPS range qualify to backing gouging CJP double V or Single V butt joint.?
2.) And, if i have PQR qualified with back gouging, Can i write WPS range qualify with ceramic backing or not.?

Best regard.
