[MW:21671] Material test specimen

Dear All,

 

What is the effect of the bellow paragraph (extracted from Saudi Aramco specification for Pressure vessels 32-SAMSS-004) on testing of material SA-516 Gr. 70:

My understanding:

• For plate up to 20mm thickness, there is no effect as the material test specimen is required to full thickness as per paragraph 11.5.1 of SA-20, so it is not necessary to specify depth of 1/2T in the material ordering information and standard material testing is meeting the below paragraph. Please check and confirm
• Also, for plate up to 100mm thickness, there is no effect if test specimen is full thickness as per paragraph 11.5.2 of SA-20, Please check and confirm
• Only, for plate above 20mm thickness, in case specimen full thickness will not applied, as per paragraph 11.5.3 of SA-20, in this case the depth of 1/2T to be specified in the material ordering information, Please check and confirm
