What's the grade of flux being used. What're the welding parameters being followed?
Other than the flux, major cause of SAW imperfections could be attributed to welding parameters.

Subject: [MW:21680] Pinholes in saw welding of Duplex stainless steel
Dear all,
I have been working with DSS off late and have found during welder qualifications that there is problem of pinholes while carrying out SAW process.
Filler dia - 2.4mm
Material - ER2209
Have also checked with the baking cycle of flux. It is as per our procedure and sufficient baking and holding is done.
Kindly give your concurrence in this matter. Anyone experienced the same problem please help.
Thank you in advance.
