The testing shall be in accordance with NACE RP0472 and the requirements
listed below. All welds, for all welding processes and consumables, shall be
tested. The testing location and frequency shall be in accordance with NACE
RP0472. The maximum allowable hardness for P-No. 1 materials is BHN 200.
For all other materials, it shall be the equivalent hardness as specified in
SAES-A-301 (equivalent hardness conversions shall be in accordance with
ASTM E140). Welds for external attachments on tank shells are exempt from
hardness testing.
