Dilution for GTAW(TIG) weld may be calculated as below.

20% from P9 side base metal
20% from P11 side base metal.
60% from Filler Metal.

It depends on the specification and Inspector. Alternatively you can weld a small weld Pad normally used for qualifying weld consumable as per ASME Sec.IIC and convince the Inspector.

We are TIG welding p9 to p11 with 80s-b8 wire. I'm needing to know how to figure what the dilution is there in that weld so that I know what to look for when doing my PMI. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
