Re: [MW:25748] WPS as per ASME SEc. IX

let us take the some essential variables one by one:
Pno: see QW 403.11 and then QW 424. The combination you have does not help. It qualifies only PNo 5B to Pno *.
A no: due to the dilution between a low alloy and stainless steel most probably it will not match.

So no chance, you need a new PQR

Dear Experts,

We have the following WPS as per ASME Sec. IX

Base metal - P5B + P8  (6" Sch 40 Pipe)
Welding process -  GTAW
Filler metal -  ER NiCr-3
Preheat temp - 180 degree C
PWHT - Nil
Trailing & backing gas -  Yes (Argon)

Can i use the above procedure for welding of ;

P5B group material fillet welding (seal welding of threaded joints) with ER NiCr-3 or ER NICrMo-3 GTAW process without PWHT
Hardness test required for HAZ 235HV10.

your expert advice highly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,
Manoj.
