Good day Mr Thomas. Dr George is correct. Please note however that your WPS does not cover you to weld 3.22mm up 4.99mm.

Dear all,
In our district cooling CS ( ASTM A106 Gr,B) pipeline project, pipe wall thickness is from 3.2 mm to 20.62 mm. and our WPS is qualified and now we have to conduct welder qualification test.So what is the minimum test coupon thickness we should select so that welder can weld upto 20.62 mm thickness pipe during production.
WPS Details:
Welding process: GTAW & SMAW
Base metal thickness range : 5 - 22 mm
Weld metal groove for GTAW ; 6mm and SMAW - 16 mm
