Not allowed to transfer GMAW short, clearly specified that the prequalified WPS D1.1 and ASME IX also has some limitations thereon, it can be used this process but in spray transfer GMAW, check it well in the codes.

Dear Experts--My question is that is ASME Sec VIII or AWS D1.1 or any other codes Prohibit manufacturer to use the GMAW welding process, and if we can use GMAW welding what care we should take while welding Parts of Pressure VesselsIn general i have seen people using TIG welding or SMAW welding , sometimes FCAW too but why not GMAWThanksVivek
