[MW:23211] Re: Welding of Had field steel

There are two type welding involve in Hadfield Steel(12-14% Mn steel or its alloy).

1)Joining of two similar grade (HADFIELD TO HADFIELD) OR DIFFERENT GRADE (HADFIELD TO OTHER GRADE STEEL).

2) Overlaying on Hdfield steel.

For joining of Hadfield to Hadfield or overlaying on headfield - We have to take care ony IPT. For this we can be used any water cooling arrangement as per job geometry.

For dissimilar welding we have to takecare material properties and welding behaviour of both material . We are enclosing very interesting youtube clip (Welding of Hadfield to EN-31 material). During welding we were trying to cooldown Hadfield , while for EN31 material we were maintaining PHT and IPT up to 250 digree C.
