Dear Sir,
This occurs in X-ray. There may be difficulty in positioning the x-ray tube due to the geometry of joint. Find out the reason. If that is the reason then this can be accepted after carefull examination. Otherwise new radiograph is to be taken because it is technicians inability to properly set the x-ray tube or because of other obstructions near the joint which makes the setting difficult.
I faced this issue when taking X-ray radiography of 180deg elbow joints and pipe(3") containing studs. We cleared those joints. We demonstrated the situation to the client also.
Interpretation is difficult and retakes will be more in such cases.
Dear Experts--
6" Dia , 9,53mm thickness pipe, X-Ray method RT performed . Two images of same pipe found at the time of evaluation. I wonder is that acceptable or not?
Photo of film is attached with this mail
