Re: [MW:22358] ASME SEC-V , VT requirements for QC Inspector

Unlike other methods, VT can be done my own QC.
just need to write a procedure of your own and qualify your people.
all you need is annual eye exam and basic training.
there is no need for outsourcing VT activities.

Dear ASME experts,

Please give your suggestions on the following,

As we made contract for VT inspection with our Subconteactor NDT company,
and 1st time we are going to have U stamp Audit for new application after 10 days from now,
I guess it is not reasonable to call VT guy for each inspection in our shop.

NDT Company is 50 kms away from our shop.

So i would like to use NDT company procedure to qualify our own QC inspector to make inspection with ASME AI before we close the final closure in our vessel.

Can i make contract with NDT company to give visual inspection training as per ASNT requirement and ammend my QC manual accordingly.

Need your suggestions ASAP.

Regards
Saravanan
