Der Sir,
Construction code ASME B 31.3.
In one of our line class in piping service requirement is 100% PWHT,
but its RT requirement is 10%, and no other NDT for Butt Weld Joints.
We are using ER70S-2 for Root Run and E7018 for Fillup and capping.
Is it acceptable? Please give ant code reference for piping.
As in my opinion we generally do PWHT below lower critical temp for
releaving the stress and there may be the possibility to open the
crack if there is any probablity.
So we do NDT for that after PWHT prefably RT/UT.
