Re: [MW:15165] Nozzle to Shell NDT Method

Dear Josenit,

Please propose 100% RT and 100% DPI...The efficiency of joint still remains the same.
Do let us know the "SERVICE".

Dear Experts,

We have fabricated a vessel of wall thickness 80mm, Construction code is ASME Section VIII Div.2 Ed. 2010. The vessel is cladded with SS 316L. It also has dissimilar weld joints between nozzle (SS) to Shell (CS) Type Category D, this welding was done using ENiCrFe-3 consumables.

My query is :
As per client he requires PA/UT to be done on the category D joints. But as per our NDT subcontractor PA/UT cannot be done for inconel welds, the rays will not penetrate through the welds. Hence requesting you to suggest a suitable method for carrying out the NDT of the same. Is there any technique/Method where we can propose to client, so that NDT can be completed.

Yours views on the same will higly appreciated,

Regards,
Josenit
