Hi,
I have a qualifed a PQR for 18mm PLATE P1 to P1, also tested for Charpy test for -40 deg (just in case for future use) I have a request to know,

1. What will be the thickness limitations if I were to develop a WPS where Charpy Test Requirment would be involved. Also is there any Preheat requirement and if so above what thickness? Answer---(This  PQR qualifies for base metal limits from 16mm to 38mm  up to minus 40C and weld metal qualifies up to 2t, Pre heat restriction is to wards lower side of max 50C  at which the PQR test plate undergone during qualification i.e if while PQR qualification coupon plate is heated to say 100C then this WPS can be used up to min 50C preheating temp. There is a restriction on Heat in put

2. I am developing a WPS for welding and without Charpy Test requiremnt, I believe the thickness limitations using the PQR would be 5 to 36mm.  ( -- Yes

Your advise would be highly appreciated
