Dear Advisers,
Apropos to a mail inquiry on SMAW welding consumable requirement for 9% Ni Steel welding, and a reply from a manufacturing company adviser offering their product Fox Nibas 60/15 . Will this consumable deliver over 70J of Impact at Minus 196*C, with a Lateral Expansion of over 1.0mm, and also meet the other AWS requirements, of over 650 MPa of UTS and 25% Elongation. The all-weld assembly will be prepared using only AC current of 150 Amps for 4.00mm, with an Inter-pass temp. of 150*C, to avoid arc-blow effect during welding of cold-tough Nickel steel.
The manufacturer's leaflet also mentions 170% recovery. Does that mean it is heavy coated, synthetic electrode with the inner wire made of something besides ER-NiCrMo-6. Can this SMAW electrode be used for welding in all positions, especially over-head and vertical up. Our application involves welding with very long welding cables.
Also confirm if the above product is equivalent to Thermanit 13/65 TTW 150 or UTP Soudonel D. Please advise.
Gratitude in advance, Baba Kalyani.
