Dear Chiranjeevulu
Stabilization annealing in the range of 500-900 Deg C will lead to
sensitization and embrittlement due to the sigma phase formation.
Sigma phase formation will depend on the ferrite %, where more than 8%
ferrite will result in sigma phases which is continuous in nature. So
in ASS the ferrite % is limited to 3-8%.
Thanks and Regards
