We are ASME U stamp certificate of authorization holder company.
I want to know when ASME BPV Code new edition or addenda is released
whether old
code books needs to be stamped as OBSOLETE / SUPERCEDED.
Our quality control manual does indicate this.
My understanding is that code books are not controlled documents at
user end.
Also if we are executing any order with , say Code edition 2007, and
order is steel
runing till January 2011 we have to use Code edition 2007 books. Since
2010 edition is in force
we can not make Code edition 2007 books OBSOLETE.
ASME inspectors / auditors are requested to give their comments &
views.
