Hi,
There is an option to go for  DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHIC SYSTEM.But it is quite expensive and very few NDE inspection agencies for this.

You can do RT with X ray machine which have the system of safe
elapsing time.You canadjust the paramerers and switch on the
machine .The exposure will on after a pre set time of few minutes and
during that time the RT technician can be at a safe distance.
