Re: [MW:6963] Test for PQR of Super Duplex Stainless steel plate UNS32750

Dear Yusuf,

Recently I got some useful stuff from one of our client. This may be helpful for you.

1.Chemical Analysis of weld metal taken from root layer. For double sided welds, analysis shall be from the weld metal layer on the process side.

2.Ferrite content measurement of the weld and heat affected zone using metallographic determination and by plotting the chemical analysis from WRC-92 diagram.

3.Micro examination of weld cross sections 12 and 3 o clock pipe positions.

4.tensile test as per ASME BPV SEC IX

5.Transverse bend test with a plunger diameter equal to 4 times the specimen thickness as per ASTM A 370 and ASME BPV SEC IX.

6.Charpy Vee Notch impact test with notches centered in the weld metal and heat affected zone at the minimum design temperature.

7.Vickers Hardness (Hv10) survey of weld cross sections from macro samples taken at 12 o clock and 3 o clock pipe positions at 2 mm from outer surface and inner surface and at mid wall.

8.Corrosion test as per ASTM G48 to determine critical pitting temperature of the weldment in as welded condition.ie, without any post cleaning of the weld root.

9.Other corrosion test such as ASTM G-150 based on client requirement

Regards,

Limesh

In addition to what has been stated we also did hardness tests across
base metal HAZ and weld metal. Ferrite tests are also good to have.
