Greetings of the day,

If I qualified a welder in pipe 6"NPS material C.S (A106 Gr. B) with welding process GTAW+SMAW as per ASME SEC IX.

Can he weld the pipe support(Shoe ,Guide , trunnion support) of SMAW only & structural connections such as Gusset plate, bottom plate, bracings of material  A36  by using SMAW Process.

 

Experts please give answer.
