Hi--I am looking to weld 410 wrought stainless steel, there is a requirement to build up parent material because of incorrect machining.AWS A 5.9 ER410 is the filler wire.
Considering the carbon and Chromium content, looking for a preheat of 200°C with maximum interpass as 315°C.
I take it ,No interruption during welding will be good for joint. Material will be constantly maintained at the minimum preheat temperature during welding.
For post weld heat treatment , I am thinking of bringing the material to 100°C (This is to ensure that there is complete transformation of the weld and HAZ to martensite ) and then follow this with PWHT for 4 hours.
I am thinking of tempering temp of 610°C ( 20°C below tempering temperature of the material).
Any recommendation in this regard will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks & best regards
