THSP - a generic term (See AWS A3.0) encompassing all thermal spray processes

SW - per AWS 3.0 is the acronym for "arc stud welding". If specifically used in a surfacing question may refer to surface welding as opposed to thermal spray, i.e. conventional welding processes such as SAW.
