You need to replace the full bottom plate in order to avoid the further breakdown during service.

                       During sutdown after blasting  tank bottom plates we observed lot of pitting corrosion. Some pitting are went through the entire thickness and some pittings are in the half way of the thickness. 

By following API 653 is it possible to repair with patch plate on the holes formed and went through the entire bottom plate thickness by pitting corrosion. Your kind suggestion is requested.
Tank Construction code: API -650
Bottom plate thickness - 8mm
