RE: [SOCIAL NETWORK] [MW:27825] Pressure test of heat exchanger having a PSV

Check the design pressure for which the heat exchanger has been rated. Maybe then you can decide whether 26bar pressure testing is required.

Dear Expert,

 

We have heat exchanger that should be pressure tested at 26 Bar while at the piping attached with exchanger having a PSV set at 17 bar and we can not remove and isolate the PSV because of welding.

 

Can we limit the pressure test at 15 or 16 bar? .Plz provide your expert opinion.
