-- a)Would you clear and explain these two paragraphs:
1.Measurements of beam spread for scan indexing limits shall be taken only when required by a referencing code section. Beam spread angles shall be measured once for a search unit wedge combination in the calculated far field at the beginning of each period of extended use, or every 3 months, whichever is less.(what is scan indexing limits and when is it used and how can be specified and based on which standard?)
2.Alternative methods of distance-amplitude of correction of sensitivity may be used provided the results are as reliable as those obtained by the acceptable method. In addition, the alternative method and its equipment shall meet all the performance requirements of this standard.(which alternative method of sensitivity calibration and in which standard are explained except as AWS D1.1)
b)and why mode conversion is more important and higher probable to happen for Probe 60 degree especially for corner square speciemen?
c) when the mode conversion in practical cases you have experienced mode conversion and get false indications and how find?
