Charpy V Notch are acceptance method for assessing resistance to brittle fracture. Usually use for develop WPS, material and consumable confirmation. CTOD measures a material property which is fracture toughness. Usually CTOD are use to measured in-service equipment. This is for estimation lifetime of equipment/material that load under certain stress condition and temperature.
