Re: [MW:22947] X70 API 5L "PSL2".

Dear Zenteno,

As per API 5L, PSL 2 class pipes' minimum tensile strength requirement is 82000 psi .It may be reason for advice by the audit team for E-9010 electrode ,which can deposit weld metal having min. tensile strength of 90000 psi ( above the tensile of pipe)

Dear experts.

For pipeline construction, diameter 20 ", thickness 12.7mm and 20,62mm, as API 5L X70 steel" PSL2 "(attached image). We had considered making welding procedures (mechanical tests) SMAW process standard API 1104 with E8010- G.

Inspection (audit) requires us to accomplish with E9010-G, according to inspection (audit) E8010-G does not correspond to API 5L X70 "PSL2".

Please give me your opinion on this technique to determine further action.

Thanks and regards.
