[MW:22971] Normalized plate of A516 gr 70

Dear Expert,

Our vendor had purchased normalized plates from Sumitomo of steel making and Mill Cert clearly stated that the plates have been normalized but no sign or stamp "N" on plate. The problem is when the client reviewed and witnessed it, they don't believe that the plate has been normalized and the question is what test needs to be conducted to prove that the plate has been normalized?

For your info: what do you think if the client ask for the following test:

1.       Tensile test and the specimen needs to be normalized first prior to test, acceptance criteria as per mill cert.

2.       Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), acceptance criteria: no residual stress in the plate.

Your quick response is highly appreciated.

Regards

Dani
