The main feature is the addition of iron powder in E7018.2014-03-12 1:52 GMT-03:00 <anish@contechgroup.net>:
Hello--I am having a PQR qualified with E7018 electrode , and corresponding WPS there by, now i need to qualify some welders for that i need E7016 root and E7018 hot, fill and cap. So i am not changing the essential variables, so is it possible for me to use the same WPS for qualification. can anyone help me in this?RegardsAnish

Both are Basic type, low hydrogen rods and having similar strength, but E7016 is without the iron powder in flux.
E7016 :Low hydrogen potassium Electrode ( not BASIC SODIUM LOW HYDROGEN; E7015 is Low hydrogen sodium electrode)
E7016's have less slag than E7018's so are better for root-run, positional welding (better controlled positionally) than E7018, easy deslagging and baking/redry not required
E7018 :Low hydrogen potassium, iron powder Electrode
E7018 has iron powder added to the flux, which goes into the weld-pool when the rod is burned, so more metal is deposited. Baking/redry required.
Both electrodes having F no. 4. You can use E7018 instead of E7016, here essential variable (F no.) not changed, but re-write your WPS accordingly.
